Get OSHA-Compliant Aerial Lift Safety Training at Partner Rentals with Genie Lift Pro

It’s safe to say that in the industrial and construction settings, working with dangerous equipment is a daily standard. Mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPS) are widely used in construction, maintenance, and real estate, commonly called aerial lifts since they lift personnel to places that could only be reached by scaffolding or ladders. But these machines can also be the most dangerous. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) estimates that 300 to 400 deaths and 1,400 injuries are attributed to aerial lifts each year with most accidents coming from tip-overs, falls, and electrocution. OSHA has found that about 25% of those incidents occurred due to lack of operator training.

Safety is a serious part of the job and that’s why Partner Rentals is here to provide you with aerial lift training so that you don’t end up in a preventable safety incident. After completing our OSHA compliant aerial lift safety training course, you will understand basic aerial lift operational and safety principles, and become a certified lift operator.

OSHA and how it keeps the work environment safe:

According to the OSHA website, Standard 29 CFR 1926.453 was created in 1973 by Congress in order to guarantee safe and healthy working conditions via training, education, outreach, and assistance for standardized compliance. It is through OSHA’s many regulations and their subsets that workplaces stay safe from serious hazards and maintain work conditions with safe tools and equipment by requiring equipment training. We at Partner Rentals provide aerial lift safety training that is compliant to Standard CFR 1926.453 pertaining to aerial lifts and other MEWPS, to ensure these vehicles are safe for use and are operationally compliant through Genie’s LiftPro Online Operator Training.

What can you expect from our training program?

The course consists of a classroom portion with video instruction and a written exam that can be completed online, while also requiring the participant to show a hands-on demonstration with an aerial lift to complete the training and certify the participant as an aerial lift operator. As part of the course, participants will be trained on the following topics:

  • The importance of aerial and scissor lift safety
  • Types of aerial and scissor lifts
  • Applicable OSHA standards
  • Pre- and post-use inspections
  • Specific precautions for preventing falls, tip-overs, electrocution, and other common hazards

You will also learn safety procedures to follow before, during, and after aerial or scissor lift use.

The training can be completed in the following ways with a flexible training schedule for more access:

  • At a Partner Rentals location, your office, or job site
  • Individual, or group sessions available

Once both the classroom portion and practical aspect of the training is successfully completed, you will receive a certificate from Genie to show that your operation credentials are up-to-date, and you are ready to work. This certification is for anyone 18 years or older, and its completion is required by OSHA every three years.
