Get Your OSHA-Compliant Forklift Safety Training with Partner Rentals

In the industrial and construction settings, we work with dangerous equipment every day. One of the most widely used pieces of equipment are powered industrial trucks, commonly called forklifts, because they help move materials in an efficient manner. But these machines can also be the most dangerous. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics estimates that almost 100 deaths and 20,000 injuries are attributed to forklifts each year. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) found that about 25% of those incidents occurred due to lack of operator training.

At Partner Rentals, we take your safety seriously and we can provide you with equipment training so that you don’t end up in a preventable safety incident that could injure you or your coworkers. After completing our OSHA-compliant forklift safety training course, you will understand basic forklift operational and safety principles, and be a certified forklift operator.

OSHA and how it keeps the work environment safe:

According to the OSHA website, OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.178 was created in 1970 by Congress in order to guarantee safe and healthy working conditions via training, education, outreach, and assistance. It is through the many regulations and their subsets that workplaces stay safe from serious hazards and maintain work conditions with safe tools and equipment. We provide forklift safety training that is compliant to Standard 1910.178 pertaining to forklifts, to ensure these vehicles are safe for use and are operationally compliant.

What can you expect from our training program?

The course consists of a classroom portion with video instruction and a written exam, while also requiring the participant to show a hands-on demonstration with a forklift to complete the training and certify the participant as a forklift operator. As part of the course, participants will be trained on the following topics:

  • Types and classes of forklifts
  • General and training forklift requirements
  • Inspections
  • Power sources
  • Operating a forklift
  • Loading and tip over hazards
  • Workplace conditions

The training can be completed in the following ways with a flexible training schedule for more access:

  • At a Partner Rentals location, your office, or job site
  • Individual, or group sessions available

Once both the classroom portion and practical aspect of the training is successfully completed, you will receive a certificate to show that your operation credentials are up-to-date, and you are ready to work. This certification is for anyone 18 years or older, and its completion is required by OSHA every three years.
